The Labor Mobility Program between El Salvador and the United States continues to create meaningful employment opportunities for workers seeking temporary positions abroad. This month, El Salvador's Ministry of Foreign Relations hosted a two-day recruitment event focused on house keeping and cleaning services positions—a testament to the ongoing collaboration between both governments to facilitate safe, legal migration pathways.
The recruitment event, held in coordination with the U.S. Government, welcomed 200 candidates from across El Salvador. The Labor Mobility Program represents a model approach to temporary worker migration—one that prioritizes worker protections, transparent processes, and legitimate employment opportunities.
Vice Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility, Patricia Godínez, captured the significance of these events: "Behind each recruitment session are stories of courage, sacrifice, and hope from workers aspiring to transform their futures and their families' futures through safe, orderly, and regular migration."
Since its inception, the Labor Mobility Program has supported over17,800 Salvadoran workers in accessing temporary employment opportunities in the United States.
One program participant, Brenda Carolina Hernández, shared how herexperience working abroad helped her achieve tangible goals:purchasing land, expanding her clothing and footwear business back home, and beginning construction on her own house.
"I want to motivate everyone participating in this process not to giveup," she said. "There will be moments of difficulty, exhaustion, and homesickness—but every effort makes sense when you have a clear goal."
The JTP Agency has participated in El Salvador's Labor Mobility Program for five years, working alongside government officials toconnect qualified workers with seasonal employment opportunities inthe United States.
